For a village of its size, Clanfield is well off for pubs. Historically there were three public houses and a wine bar; here are the village's best-known pubs today.
The Rising Sun
In the heart of old Clanfield, next to St James's Church on North Lane, The Rising Sun is the classic village local. It serves food and cask ales, has en-suite B&B rooms, and sits right on the edge of the South Downs National Park — handy for walkers and cyclists on the South Downs Way. Out towards the A3 on London Road, The Hampshire Hog is a Fuller's pub known for its food, winter fires and a large garden for warmer days. View listing.
The Bat & Ball
On Hyden Farm Lane, between Clanfield and Hambledon, The Bat & Ball is a historic Fuller's pub opposite Broadhalfpenny Down — the "Cradle of Cricket". A brass strip in the floor still marks the old parish boundary that once ran through the building. View listing.
